The New York Islanders have announced the signing of forward Daylan Kuefler to a two-year, two-way contract that spans both the NHL and AHL. Kuefler, a 24-year-old native of Red Deer, Alberta, had a standout third professional season with the Bridgeport Islanders, where he achieved career highs in games played and scoring, netting 10 goals and 15 assists for a total of 25 points in 67 games. His performance also included 64 penalty minutes and 100 shots on goal, showcasing his offensive capabilities and physical play. Kuefler was selected by the Islanders in the sixth round of the 2022 NHL Draft, and he has accumulated 34 points in 105 career AHL games with the organization. In addition to his AHL experience, he played 17 games with the Worcester Railers in the ECHL during the 2023-24 season, contributing five goals and three assists. Before turning pro, Kuefler spent four seasons with the Kamloops Blazers in the WHL, where he served as an assistant captain and helped lead his team to the Western Conference Championship in 2022. His junior career was marked by impressive statistics, including 144 points in 184 games.
